Vietnam Aquaculture Market

Vietnam is currently the fourth largest aquatic seafood producer after China, Indonesia, and India, holding an important position in the global aquatic supply chain.
With changes in consumer diets, continuous growth in seafood consumption, and rising income levels, aquaculture and its supporting aquafeed industry are maintaining stable development.
Despite this, the sector faces multifaceted challenges.
High feed costs demand greater efficiency and stability. Disease prevention, environmental pressure, and strict international standards for safety and sustainability also raise the bar for quality and production. Furthermore, different species and farming models increase technical complexity.
In the long run, however, Vietnam’s aquaculture market prospects remain strong.
Mainstream species like shrimp and catfish will continue to drive feed demand. As farming moves towards high-density, sustainable models, the market will favor flexible, stable-performance feed solutions. This trend provides sustained momentum for upgrading equipment and production lines.
Client Project Details
This client has long been deeply involved in the feed sector and possesses a profound understanding of raw material characteristics, production processes, and end-user farming demands.
This project focuses on Vietnam’s three most advantageous aquaculture species—Tilapia, Pangasius catfish, and Whiteleg shrimp—aiming to build a highly specialized, automated, modern factory that is close to local resource endowments.
The factory’s core products will cover two types of feed: one is extruded pellet feed suitable for Tilapia and Pangasius, with a particle size range of 0.8 to 5.0 millimeters; the other is high-stability micro-particle feed designed specifically for Whiteleg shrimp, with particle sizes controlled between 0.8 and 2.0 millimeters.
These specifications place high standards on the equipment’s grinding precision, conditioning uniformity, and forming capability within the extrusion system.
In terms of raw material strategy, the client fully combines Vietnam’s local resource advantages with the characteristics of international market supply. This raw material structure both controls costs and ensures the nutritional level and palatability of the feed.

The client places special emphasis on equipment stability and its ability to handle ultra-fine particles.

Their expectation is for the supplier to deliver a turnkey solution, supplemented by experienced engineers during installation and commissioning, and to provide systematic training for the local team.

Custom-Tailored Solution
RICHI always puts the real needs of customers first. Before providing a feed production solution, we researched customers’ core pain points:

Which farming stage are you planning to target with your feed?

Do you plan to use ring-die pelleting or twin-screw extrusion?

For the post-extrusion coating system, are you considering spraying fish oil, lecithin, or a composite liquid additive?

Are your current customers mainly large-scale farms or distributors?
Based on this information, we design a more tailored solution for the client, ensuring that aquatic feed equipment configuration and process design are fully aligned with customers’ specific needs, helping them resolve operational challenges.
The final aquatic feed processing factory includes the following sections:
Raw Materials Processing
This stage is for receiving, temporarily storing, and transporting raw materials. Through cleaning, impurity removal, and proper conveying methods, it ensures that the materials entering the next process are clean and stable.
01
Crushing System
Processes raw materials to a suitable and uniform particle size. Particle size control directly affects the pellet’s forming quality, structural stability, and digestibility.
02
Mixing System
Thoroughly and uniformly mixes various raw materials, additives, and trace components.
03
Extrusion System
The pre-mixed powder is conditioned, cooked, and extruded here to form feed pellets of the desired size and density.
04
Drying System
Uses uniform and controlled hot air to reduce the moisture content of the feed pellets, improving their structural stability and storage safety.
05
Spraying System
Applies fats, palatants (attractants), or functional additives evenly onto the surface of the feed pellets to improve palatability.
06
Cooling System
Rapidly and evenly cools high-temperature feed pellets down to near ambient temperature. Otherwise, accumulated internal heat and moisture after packaging can easily cause mold.
07
Packaging System
Measures, weighs, and seals the finished feed. It ensures accurate weight and a neat appearance for each bag, facilitating storage, transportation, and sales. It also supports different package sizes.

Complete Fish & Shrimp Feed Plant Delivery Process

Machine Production
After the customer confirmed the plan and signed the contract, our factory immediately began production. All feed equipment used in this 4tph aquatic feed processing factory is self-manufactured by RICHI, with some key components custom-made based on the customer’s raw material type and process needs.
During production, our engineers rigorously monitor every step—from material selection to assembly and commissioning—following unified quality standards to ensure reliable performance and stable operation.
At the same time, to let customers know the progress more, we regularly capture photos and videos of the equipment manufacturing process, showcasing key equipment and semi-finished products. In this way, customers can clearly see the whole process of step-by-step molding of the whole production line even if they are not on site.

Equipment Delivery
Once all fish & shrimp feed production equipment is fully manufactured and the necessary accessories for the aquatic feed production line are prepared, we will arrange shipment according to the delivery schedule confirmed with you.
As a long-established manufacturer in the feed equipment industry, we have a mature global delivery system. Our feed production equipment has been successfully exported to over 140 countries and regions.
Whether your project is located in Vietnam or elsewhere, we can ensure the safe and timely delivery of the equipment to the project site through standardized logistics solutions and end-to-end tracking services.

Installation, Commissioning, and Training
After the equipment arrives at the customer’s project site, we offer flexible installation support options: You can install it yourself or have our engineers assist on-site.
For this project, the customers chose self-installation. To ensure a smooth installation, we provided detailed installation drawings in advance and provided online guidance. If any problems arise during installation, our technical team will timely provide solutions to get the line running smoothly.
After the feed production line is installed and commissioned, we provide customers with training, either online or on-site. This training covers equipment operation, routine maintenance, and production process management, ensuring safe and skilled use of the entire feed production line.
Customer Evaluation and Project Operation Status
Recently, our after-sales department received feedback from the client:
“Our factory has been running for about eight months now, and I can confidently say that choosing RICHI was one of the smartest moves we’ve made.
The performance of your twin screw extrusion system is truly outstanding. It has not experienced a single die blockage issue since we started using it. The quality of the feed produced is visibly impressive even from a surface inspection.
Our factory has already recovered most of its initial investment. Next, we plan to add a liquid additive premixing line, and I have started arranging discussions with you for this next phase of our cooperation.”
