How Are Pellets Produced?
While raw materials (such as wood, straw, feed ingredients, and organic waste) vary in application, pellet production generally involves three key stages: raw material pretreatment, forming, and post-processing.
01 Raw Material Preparation
The first step is pretreatment. Depending on the material type and condition, processes such as grinding, drying, impurity removal, and screening are required to ensure the material reaches the appropriate particle size, moisture content, and uniformity.
02 Mixing
For formulated products like animal feed and fertilizers, precise mixing of different ingredients is essential. This ensures the uniform distribution of nutrients and active ingredients.
03 Pellet Forming
The processed material enters the pellet mill, where it is extruded through ring dies or molds under mechanical pressure to form continuous pellets.

04 Cooling & Screening
Freshly formed pellets are usually hot. They must undergo cooling to lower the temperature and release internal moisture, thereby improving stability.

05 Packaging & Storage
